Good deeds!

I hereby declare that I've fulfilled my good deed quota for the month! Ask no more favors of me, for your pleas shall fall upon deaf ears. I am done. For this month. So soon u ask? A new month has hardly begun and I am already done good deeding? Yes. I've done exactly two good deeds, but they both are of such great importance that I feel my quota has been reached, perhaps exceeded and no more goodness should be expected of me. To explain myself let me just describe my two acts of selfless goodness.

Good deed nr.1 : There I am wandering aimlessly through Louvre museum, slowly drifting past countless exibits hoping eventually that the big tourist stream will eventually carry me to the one and only. The most prized artwork of the whole museum. The fabulous Mona Lisa. So there I am, lost in my thougths, when I am interrupted (Thoughtus Interruptus) by two japanese tourists, that wanted me to take a picture of them with their camera (I did say they were japanese, what did you expect?). Well casting my thoughts on the Meaning of Life aside, I took their 5.0 megapixel camera in my hands and promptly took a picture of them underneath a big stone arch. That was quite similar to a stone arch next to it, or the one behind me which was of quite managable size if you wanted to capture it whole on a picture. Well the room was full of stone "somethings" all of them quite old and of course priceless I would presume. And rather boring in my opinion. But nevertheless I helped the hapless japanese tourists and was well on the way towards meeting my monthly quota.

Good deed nr.2 : Ahh, here comes the good deed of such proportions you will all gasp and be awed at my extraordinary altruism. At 18.00 the french attendants kicked me and countless other tourists out of Louvre (I wasn't done looking yet you selfish bastards. And no! I couldn't get to the Louvre sooner than 15.00, on sundays I am not that fast. Good luck in the next world war, guess who will not be helping you, grmpf!). So bearing a grudge I started walking down the park towards Champs-Élysées, where I wanted to find a bookstore or two, all the while keeping my fingers crossed that they'll perhaps have an english book or two. So I soon started trodding down the Elyisian avenue with each step approaching the arch of triumph monument, one of the most prominent signs of my whereabouts. And then, once again, I am interrupted by two asian tourists. Two girls, both were twenty-somethings, but lo and behold : No cameras! So they start muttering something in bad french and I quickly explain that I speak english only. Still they insist and the older of them says to me : Je cherche Champs-Élysées. (I am looking for Elyisian Fields). You are standing on bloody Elysian Fields! Talk about sense of orientation. Or observation for that matter, after all arch of triumph could be easily seen with naked eye from where we were standing. And its a big stone arch. Can't miss it. Really! Wait... you can? Oh well... Anyway, this deed obviously pushed me a bit over the good deed quota for the month. I think I deserve a rest after all this helping.

Over and out, I think I'll go for a beer.

Oh and here is a picture of Elyisian Fields avenue when you are on the other end (obviously it looks terribly mysterious and can be easily mistaken for a variety of places from this side and whatever you do, pay absolutely no attention to that big stony thing that looks suspiciously like an arch of triumph, it is just an optical illusion, probably a mirage or something):
